MANILA, Philippines - The camp of Liberal Party standard-bearer Sen. Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III was forced to shut down the candidate's official Facebook Fan Page after hackers gained illegal access to Aquino's Facebook account and started unsubscribing the LP bet's online supporters.
A thread on Aquino's LP bet's Facebook page on Sunday said: "Our Official Facebook Fan Page has been hacked, and supporters are maliciously being unsubscribed by the hacker. We are temporarily shutting it down. Rest assured our admins are working 24/7 to restore it to normal operations."
The thread has garnered close to 3,000 comments more than 11 hours after it was posted. Some of the comments from Aquino's more than 1.3 million supporters said the incident will not deter support for the LP bet.
Others, however, said the hacking incident could be a ploy by Aquino's camp to gain sympathy for the presidential frontrunner.
The hacking incident is the latest twist in the runup to the May 10 presidential election, which is being contested by a total of nine candidates.
Ang Ladlad party-list prefers a clean candidate in the person of Noynoy Aquino whom they have branded the “Mr. Clean in Philippine politics.”
Controversial party-list Ang Ladlad, an organization for LGBT (lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transsexuals), has thrown its support behind Noynoy Aquino and Jejomar Binay in the coming May 2010 elections.
In a press conference yesterday, April 22, at Annabel's Restaurant in Quezon City, Danton Remoto, Ang Ladlad party-list chairperson, said the decision was made by the whole party. He termed their choices, "Noybi: The Heart of Noy, The Hands of Binay." Remoto told the press that Ang Ladlad chose Sen. Noynoy Aquino for President because he shows the cleanest reputation among other candidates. "Doon na po kami sa reputasying malinis. Si Noynoy Aquino po ang 'Mr.Clean' of Philippine politics. Walang bahid, walang mantsa. Hindi mo na kailangang magkuskos at magkula pa.
"Sa palagay po nami'y hindi ipapahiya ni Noynoy ang mabuting pangalan ng kanyang mga magulang na sina Senador Ninoy at Pangulong Cory. At kung totoo pong politics of change ang hanap natin, aba'y doon na po tayo sa kandidatong walang maitim na ulap sa kanilang reputasyon."
Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay, on the other hand, was chosen for his achievements. "Masipag si Mayor Binay, magaling na executive, at may programang konkreto para sa mahihirap.... At ang sabi nga, sa kanila sa Makati, may eskuwelahan, may ospital, may health center, may trabaho—at hindi pa dinededma ang mga senior citizens. May pasine, may pakimkim at cake pa ang mga lolo at lola kapag birthday nila. O, saan ka pa lulugar?"
CAMPAIGN FUNDS. Remoto clarified that Aquino and Binay were chosen because they were the two candidates who readily helped Ang Ladlad with its own campaign.
"Kailangan lang naman namin po ng tulong sa logistics," Remoto said. "Dati po, nagro-RoRo [Roll-on/Roll-off Transportation System] po ang mga nominees namin papunta sa ibang probinsiya para mangampanya... Kawawang-kawawa ang mga bakla!"
Campaign funds given by Aquino and Binay, he added, were used for airplane fare, venue reservations, hotel accomodations, tarpaulins and posters, and other logistics needed by Ang Ladlad for its nationwide campaign.
"Mahal po kasi ang tarpaulin, 80 [pesos] isa. Dati kapag nagpapa-print kami, isandaan lang. Ngayon 1,000, kaya na."
Remoto said the party-list did not choose to endorse Sen. Mar Roxas, Noynoy Aquino's running mate, because he missed out on his promise to help them with their campaign funds.
"Hindi naman po niya kasalanan, nag-sorry na po yung staff niya kahapon. Nag-meeting na po kami noon ng staff niya, pero siguro sa dami ng ginagawa, nakalimutan nila kami," said Remoto.
But he's still friends with Roxas, he added. He also has other supporters from the political sector, and people from the entertainment industry. They include Albay Governor Joey Salceda, Naga City Mayor Jesse Robredo, beauty mogul Ricky Reyes, directors Joel Lamangan and Joey Reyes, and talk-show host Boy Abunda.
"Salamat sa suporta nila, nakakaya na namin ang nationwide campaign."
ANG LADLAD PLATFORM. Remoto said he believes Ang Ladlad can sneak in a Representative in Congress. Ang Ladlad has five nominees: Bemz Benedito, Germaine Leonin, Cris Lopera, Naomi Fontanos, and Dexter Macaldo.
"Naka-concentrate kami sa urban centers—Metro Manila, Metro Cebu, Metro Davao—kasi marami kaming makukuhang boto doon." Remoto said around 10 percent of the Philippine population, currently pegged at 92 million, are homosexual.
"Ano po ang plataporma ng Ang Ladlad? Pantay na karapatan para sa lahat," he said.
Their platform includes the filing of an Anti-Discrimination Bill, support for micro-finance and livelihood for their constituents, the institution of Golden Gays or a Home for the Aged system, more business opportunities for members of their community, and the removal of the Anti-Vagrancy Law, "na ginagamit ng ilang awtoridad para mangotong sa mga LGBT."
"At nariyan ang limang konkretong programa. Hindi tulad ng ibang mga fake na party-lists na magpa-file na sa Comelec, e wala pang plataporma at programa," Danton Remoto asserted.
In a statement, the detained general said Villar should follow the example of businessman Manny Pangilinan who "took the responsibility of owing up to his indiscretion.”
“I urge Senator Villar to do a Manny Pangilinan. A true national leader is capable of acknowledging when he is at fault, whether he or his people caused the transgression. As such, I ask, can Villar do that? Can he swallow his pride and admit wrongdoing?" Lim said in a statement.
The fake report, which bore the header of the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) Department of Psychology and allegedly signed by Fr. Carmelo "Tito" Caluag, alleged that Aquino has a history of smoking, drinking and the use of marijuana.
Caluag and the ADMU Department of Psychology have both revealed that the report is fake while ABS-CBN revealed that the documents came from sources from the Nacionalista Party. The NP has denied issuing the fake report.
Lim said the mere fact that institutions such as ABS-CBN and Ateneo De Manila University already confirmed that the alleged psychiatric analysis of Aquino was fake and was sourced from the NP are enough reasons for Villar to seek apology and owe responsibility. Lim is running as a guest candidate of both the Liberal Party and Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino.
“Instead of cashing in on this propped up controversy which is only wasting our time and hurting many people, Villar should be responsible enough to order his people to stop from further escalating the issue,” the detained military official said.
Before Noynoy Aquino became a presidential contender, I had already expressed admiration for Manny Villar because I’ve always respected self-made people like him. On the criticism that he would further enrich himself in power, my personal view is that there are things beyond money that motivate some of us humans, and in the case of Manny Villar, I believe that he is running for President as a quest for glory, that he’d like to help rewrite Philippine history with economic prosperity and helping solve mass poverty.
In the same manner, to say that Noynoy Cojuangco Aquino is not truly for social justice because his late mother or his kin still never resolved the land reform question in Hacienda Luisita, that is not totally fair and accurate, too. Noynoy has never been in charge of that hacienda and I believe he has no major say in the management of it. I think there are other more relevant issues that political rivals can raise against Noynoy, let him just prove his election promise of working to redistribute the lands there. Even before he became senator and now presidential candidate, Noynoy Aquino was still a congressman when I became intrigued by his personality. It is not true that Noynoy is not intelligent or that he knows nothing. I was pleasantly surprised that he was passionate about justice and quite eloquent. On the criticism that Noynoy is not intelligent or that he will be a helpless pawn of politicians and powerbrokers around him, I believe that he has seen how others have tried to sabotage and manipulate his late mom’s presidency, that he would try his best to be a good leader, that he’d like to help rewrite Philippine history by upholding good governance and truth.
Villar will do anything to win at all costs but unfortunately, his ratings continue to drop and his black propagandas is even helping Noynoy's ratings go up. His story that he was from poor and that his brother died because they were poor, those alone were insane that will never be forgotten. Now, he wants to make people believe that Noynoy is the one who is insane by making up more lies. But people are wiser these days and their minds are set on Noynoy.
Sen. Manny Villar on Saturday challenged his main rival, Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino of the Liberal Party, to undergo a psychiatric test and other medical exams to prove his sanity and fitness to become Chief Executive. Villar said that he too was willing to take “a comprehensive physical and mental examination in order to ascertain (our) fitness to occupy the highest office of the land.”
“Manny Villar is desperately trying to salvage his declining numbers, this time using the fake report the Nacionalista Party black propagandists have concocted, spread all over the Internet, and leaked to the media. It has been confirmed by ABS-CBN that the Nacionalista Party is the source of this black propaganda,” said Lacierda.
“By calling upon Sen. Noynoy Aquino to answer the fake report, Villar dignified it even as it has been debunked as a forgery by two independent sources—Fr. Tito Caluag and the Psychology Department of Ateneo de Manila University.”
The lawyer called on Villar to “stop trying to compensate for the failure of his black propagandists.”

Opinyon ko lang naman kasi even after Noynoy's medical reports was found to be a fake, Villar continued asking Noynoy related questions. He really wants Noynoy to admit that he is a mental case that perhaps Villar is guilty of making up too. Don't blame me for saying that because reports said that Villar made up stories to get the people's sympathy and didn't they prove it with documents obtained from reliable sources? You see, in this election, Noynoy's best weapon is his clean record of no corruption. That's it. That's all there is to it because people really wants corruption to stop. Therefore, if ever Noynoy wins, maybe it's Villar who will end up in a psychiatric department because not only that he will loose his ambition to become president, he will also loose the billions he threw away in the campaign with the hope that he will recover once he becomes president. Manny Villar is threatening to expose Noynoy Aquino anew and Noynoy's response is “Go ahead, do whatever you want to do”. Noynoy is not worried because he is very transparent, honest and incorruptible. He had nothing to hide and so he's not affected by any threats from Villar's camp or from anyone at all.

Ayon kay LP senatorial bet Martin Bautista, hindi man lamang kinilabutan si Cayetano na magsabing “TOPAK” o Trapo, Oportunista at Kamag-anak Inc., gayong isa sa miyembro ito.
Aniya, kapatid ni Cayetano si Senadora Pia Cayetano, habang kongresista ang asawang si Taguig/Pateros Congw. Lanie Cayetano at dalawa pa nitong kapatid ang tumakatkbo sa lokal na posis¬yon sa naturang siyudad.
I think Villar needs to be more honest once and for all. He has been believed to be making up stories to get the public's sympathy and attention. The stories that he came from poor and that his brother died because they were poor worked against him. The C5 controversies are still an open issue because Villar avoided facing it. The Villarroyo alliance, on the other hand, caused people to believe that Gloria's administration will continue through Villar.
Under Article 12, Section 261 of the code, vote-buying constitutes the act of giving, offering, or promising money or anything of value, including promises of “employment, franchise or grant, public or private."
Vote-buying also involves making or offering to incur expenses that will, directly or indirectly, benefit a person, association, corporation, entity, or community “to induce anyone or the public in general to vote for or against any candidate or withhold his vote in the election, or to vote for or against any aspirant for the nomination or choice of a candidate in a convention or similar selection process of a political party." "(Villar) is now trying to buy himself the Presidency of our beloved country... in distributing and handing out P20 and scholarship grants while in the act of soliciting the support and sacred votes of his audience, has undeniably engaged in the despicable act of vote-buying," the petition read.
Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez told reporters that the allegations made by the LP bets may initiate both disqualification and criminal proceedings. "Bottom line is [that] vote-buying is a felony," he said.
He noted, however, that the Comelec Law Department would still have to investigate if there has been in fact a violation of the election rules.
Vote-buying constitutes an election offense, which is punishable by one to six years imprisonment, disenfranchisement, and disqualification from holding public office.
Comelec Law Department head Ferdinand Rafanan had earlier admitted that Villar's act of giving out P20 bills "might be considered" vote-buying under the Omnibus Election Code.
"Misrepresentations"
Aside from vote-buying, the LP senatorial bets said Villar should be disqualified for making "misrepresentations" about the “true" circumstances surrounding the death of his brother, which they said was a violation of the Fair Elections Act or Republic Act 9006.

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE 1) - Liberal Party (LP) presidential candidate Benigno 'Noynoy' Aquino III and a Catholic priest have both denied the authenticity of a document purporting that Aquino suffered from clinical depression in the mid-1990's.
A“document” with the header of the Ateneo de Manila University’s Department of Psychology surfaced on the Internet on Thursday.
Read: The alleged Psychiatric Evaluation Form of Sen. Benigno Aquino III (as posted in politicalamateur.wordpress.com) According to the “document”, Aquino underwent a psychiatric evaluation in 1996, when he was about 36 years old.
The alleged document, supposedly signed by Fr. Carmelo "Tito" Caluag, assessed Aquino as suffering from major depressive disorder, and recommended continuing therapy.
According to the alleged document, a sister of Aquino reported that she was 'worried' that he has been depressed for 10 days.
The "document" also said that he has problems with his speech and in concentrating, due to tensions related to work and his separation from his flight attendant girlfriend.
The document also alleged that Aquino has a history of smoking, drinking, and use of marijuana when he was still in his teenage years.
The document recommended that he undergo medication and psychotherapy sessions.
'Fiction'
Aquino said, however, that the document was a "work of fiction".
"What they're doing is that they came up with this work of fiction, [and] I will respond [and] point out factual errors that are easily verifiable, thereby giving them the chance to, para bang may 'editing' of the work to make it sound more credible," Aquino told ABS-CBN News senior correspondent Ces Oreña Drilon during a sortie in Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija province.
"So I'm in a position that there is a no-win situation, and the lack of attribution is already indicative of the fact that the person who made this fiction is aware that he is purporting fiction and is slanderous," he added.
"I am confident that there are a lot of people who have known me, they are people who, if they bother to read it, will find so many factual errors," he said.
Caluag: I'm not a psychologist
Caluag, meanwhile, said that the document was fake.
Caluag said that he has "never been connected" with the said department as the report claimed, as he was the principal of the Ateneo de Manila High School at the time the report was allegedly made.
He further clarified that he is an educator by training and a priest by vocation.
Caluag added he is not competent to make any kind of psychological assessment on anyone.
He, however, admitted that the signature on the document was similar to his, but said that it was just "pasted" on the report. He said it was the type of signature he would use to sign birthday cards sent to Ateneo de Manila University alumni when he was still the university's Vice President for University Development and Alumni Relations from 2000 to 2005.
He said he uses a different, "more formal" signature when signing official documents.
Caluag is currently the executive director of ABS-CBN's 71 Dreams Foundation.

The Liberal Party on Thursday denied that its standard-bearer, Sen. Benigno “Noynoy" Aquino III, underwent psychiatric examination in the past.
In a phone interview with GMANews.TV, LP campaign manager Butch Abad described as fake the medical reports showing Aquino had sought psychiatric help.
“The documents are only part of the black propaganda against Aquino, who is a consistent leader in the presidential preference polls," Abad said.
A scanned copy of the supposed medical report, which bears the letterhead of the Ateneo Psychology Department and has the signature of Fr. Carmelo Caluag, has been circulating on the Internet.

Kris is Kris. You either love her or hate her. I love her. Why? Because she’s so real and she’ll tell you like it is. I like people like that. But once she finds out that she has hurt you, immediately she will tell you she’s sorry. So is Kris going to be a big help for Noynoy’s campaign? Absolutely Yes! People, especially the “masa”, believe her and finds her amusing and entertaining even when she’s emotional. But of course, she’s not the only reason Noynoy might win. Bong Austero writes: The most forwarded email since Monday were the columns written by Solita Monsod of the Philippine Daily Inquirer and William Esposo of the Philippine Star facts around the death of Senator Manuel Villar’s brother and about his supposed poor background to boost his presidential bid. Monsod and Esposo presented incontrovertible documents that prove that contrary to the claims Villar made in his political ads, his brother Danny did not die because his family did not have money to pay for his medication nor did he live in abject poverty in the squatters’ area in Tondo. Villar has countered with a blanket denunciation of his critics. In an interview conducted Sunday at Naga City, he insisted that he and his family were once squatters, that he was born poor on Sta. Maria Street in Tondo, that the nine of them slept together on a single mat and mosquito net. He also insisted that his brother died because they didn’t have the money to pay for the treatment of leukemia. He also said that in no way could the property supposedly bought by his parents at a “later date” in San Rafael Village in Navotas be called living in a posh subdivision.
Villar needs to do a better job at refuting the facts as presented by Monsod and Esposo. His blanket repudiation does not really hack it. Just because someone lived in a squatter’s area does not automatically translate to being poor. In the sixties and even seventies, it was common for families to share a common sleeping mat and a common mosquito net, both of which came in “family” sizes then. A friend who lived in that part of town in the sixties swears that San Rafael Village was an upscale subdivision around that time. And treatment of leukemia was not readily available in 1962. Villar has obviously stretched the truth and adjusted facts to strengthen his image as someone whom the poor can relate with.
I have nothing against people saying they were once (or are) poor—this penchant for false humility and for wearing poverty like a badge are things that many Filipinos consider admirable. Does Villar have an idea what it's like to be really poor as in "isang kahig, isang tuka"? Is he misleading himself thinking people is that dumb and stupid to believe his story?
Among the public documents obtained by Philippine Star columnist William Esposo are the death certificate of Danny B. Villar, and the Transfer Certificate of Title (TCT number: 135396/3194) of the 560-square-meter property in the upper class San Rafael Village of Navotas where the Villars had lived when Danny died.
According to Esposo, the documents "shattered this once poor fantasy that Villar has been peddling. “
LP senatorial candidate Risa Hontiveros said Villar’s false claim was “scandalous and an insult to the real poor in the country.”
She challenged Villar to use the Holy Week to “repent.”
But perhaps, Villar was just comparing their standard of living then and now which can never be considered as poor because they had money not to be admitted but to be able to afford the hospital bills from FEU, a private hospital then that catered to the rich, just to name a few.
Esposo said the documents show that the Villars bought a 560-square-meter property in Tondo before 1962, and this was located in an "gated subdivision" of families who were not poor. He added that a poor family would have been happy to have a 100-square-meter property.
He also said that Villar's father must have been earning a sizeable income as a government employee to be able able to borrow P16,000 from the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS). He noted that in 1962, senior executives in big corporations made monthly salaries of about P2,000.
He also belied Villar's political ad which refers to a "sea of garbage." During the 1950s, he said there was still no such thing in Metro Manila. "I was born 1949. The sea of garbage in Metro Manila only happened in the middle part of martial law," he claimed.

Ayon sa report ng AGB Nielsen Media Research na ipinalabas ng Pera at Pulitika (PaP), lumalabas na si Villar ang may pinakamalaking gastos sa hanay ng mga kandidato ngayong halalan kung saan lumampas na rin ito sa itinakdang dami ng oras para sa pagpapalabas ng mga poll ads sa mga radyo at telebisyon.
Kabuuang P1.2 bilyon umano ang nagastos ni Villar na kung susumahin ay tumataginting na P555,555 kada oras para lamang sa political advertisement sa nakaraang tatlong buwan. Ang Nielsen/PaP ay koalisyon na nagbabantay sa gastos ng mga kandidato upang matiyak na sumusunod ang mga ito sa regulasyong itinakda ng Omnibus Election Code (OEC) para sa mga gastos ng mga kandidato at hindi ito maabuso.
Sa datos ng Nielsen, P1.2 bilyon na ang perang inilabas ni Villar simula Nobyembre 1, 2009 hanggang Pebrero 8, 2010 na kung hihimayin ay papatak sa P13,333,333 bawat araw at P555,555 bawat oras. Mahigit kalahati rin o 6,676 minuto ng political ads sa mga radyo na napakinggan ng madla ang kay Villar sa kabuuang 10,576 minuto na inilabas ng lahat ng mga kandidato sa pagkapangulo.
Bunga nito, lumampas na si Villar sa itinakda ng batas na 120 minutong ‘air time’ para sa mga kandidato sa kabuuan ng campaign period.
Samantala, tiniyak naman ng Comelec na mananagot ang mga himpilan ng telebisyon at radyo sa sobrang pag-eere ng political advertisements ng mga kandidato.

Kris is not leaving The Buzz after realizing her real standing in her brother Noynoy's campaign which proves her critics to be wrong:
MANILA, Philippines - Kris Aquino on Thursday she would not leave "The Buzz," which came after her tearful statements Sunday.

Kris made the statement during a campaign sortie for her brother, Senator Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III, who is running for president, in the Ilocos Region. Regarding her presence in the daily showbiz talk show Showbiz News Ngayon, she praised her temporary replacements Mariel Rodriguez, Bianca Gonzales, and Toni Gonzaga.
"Si Toni, Bianca and Mariel, kina-career talaga nila yung pagdadamit, talagang super bonggacious ang mga outfit nila, [and] the rapport, most especially halatang-halata kasi si Boy dahil si Mariel alaga niya so favorite niya talaga," she told ABS-CBN News's Mario Dumaual.
"They're doing such a great job, Mario... it's really excellent na nabigyan sila ng chance na ito, and by all means, ako, happy ako to share it with them," she said when asked if she would be willing to return to SNN.
"Nasa sa inyo po iyan. They're doing OK right now, it's something we have to discuss also. Kasi Mario, nami-miss ko na rin, I've been remiss as a parent... so I think pagkatapos [ng kampanya] kailangan bumawi sa mga anak," she said.
'Overwhelmed' by Ilocanos' reception
Meanwhile, said she was overwhelmed by the reception the campaign of her brother received in their visit to the Ilocos region.
"History has really moved on," the TV host said during their historic first visit to the region where their family's traditional rival, the Marcoses, hail from. (Read: Aquino campaigns in Marcos country)
Kris said that while on the plane to Laoag City, she had been praying for fear that no one would be greeting them on their arrival at the airport.
She said she remembered that back in the 1980s, visits by her late mother, former president Corazon Aquino, was met by residents closing their doors and windows.
"Our politics has really matured through time," she said.

Villar kept bragging about his rags to riches story but this article tells us a different story:
THE MARCH 7 ARTICLE ON Manny Villar’s house along Moriones Street in Tondo confirmed the belief that he was never poor, never spent his Christmas on the street and never swam in a pool of garbage. In the early 1960s, if you had a three-story house in a 60-square-meter lot in the business district of Tondo, you were considered an aristocrat.
Not too far from that Moriones house were shanties leading to the pier where children went to the nearby public schools for education. Such was not the case of Villar: he went to Holy Child Catholic School for his elementary education and to Mapua for high school. Coming from Moriones going to Mapua, Villar had to pass by three outstanding public high schools: Jose Abad Santos High School, Arellano High School and Teodora Agoncillo High School, and public schools in the latter part of the 1950s and 1960s were at their best. But not for the Villar children. Because their father was a white-collar employee and they had a businesswoman for a mother, Manny and his siblings were able to studyin the best private schools nearby. They had corned beef for breakfast (as told in Villar’s ad with Boy Abunda) and I am pretty sure suahe and other seafoods for lunch or dinner.
During the times that Villar claimed he was poor, his family actually belonged to the AB and upper C economic strata or the top 10 percent of the population. As in the C-5 controversy, in the conversion of agricultural land in Iloilo, in the landgrabbing of the Dumagats’ land in Norzagaray and his questionable use of socialized housing funds among many others, Villar shows a penchant for covering the truth.
I hope television’s investigative journalists can dig deeper into this so the poor people who are being used will find out the truth.
Kris poured out her sentiments in The Buzz yesterday and a lot of people were touched. I was. I felt her pain for her family especially for Noynoy. For palace to come out to remind the voters not to get carried away by Kris’ tears, they must be really threatened. Kris has made many mistakes in life and who hasn’t? Only the perfect can cast the first stone. But no one is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. The only difference is that Kris is never afraid to talk about hers. She is very transparent, honest, and vocal. And there’s nothing wrong with that.
