The result of the Aquino/Roxas tandem to some of the members of the opposition

Some members of the opposition said that the formal announcement of Aquino/Roxas tandem may possibly close the door to unity.
Former President Joseph Estrada said he is still determined to run in 2010 and has no plan to ask Aquino to give way. But he would like to talk to Aquino about having a single lineup for the senatorial and local positions.
Loren Legarda, on the other hand, is looking into a possible Legarda/Escudero-Escudero/Legarda tandem in which she believes will also have its strength. She also said the fight will be a friendly one but the level of debate is high and issues would be at the forefront of the campaign.
But Villar still has no team, and Escudero and Legarda both shared the same opinion that Villar will need a credible team because of the recent issues he had that affected his record in politics. But with Willie Revillame as his strong supporter, things might change for Villar.

Pokwang a hit in Wowowee

Many people were worried about what might happen to Wowowee when Willie was told to go on leave of absence. Who can match Willie's charisma and power in making people happy the way he did. We all know Willie is Wowowee and Wowowee is Willie. But to my surprise, I'm now more looking forward to watching Wowowee because of Pokwang. Yes, Pokwang was able to pull it off and up. She really makes me laugh until my sides would feel like it's going to split. If Pokwang will remain to be humble and funny as she already is, she will go a long way in her career.

Charice's fans upset with Willie Revillame

Some of Charice's fans who watched the Wowowee show of Willie Revillame in Lake Tahoe were upset and were calling him rude because apparently, Charice, who was its main guest and who sang in the finale of the show was suddenly stopped when she was supposed do another number. But the truth was it wasn't Willie's fault.

As reported by ALEX VALENTIN BROSAS in Manila Bulletin:

Willie explained in “Showbiz News Ngayon” last Sept. 8 that they had to stop the show because of the fireworks.

“Baka nga naman may tamaan 'yong apoy. We have to follow the rules here in Lake Tahoe. Maganda naman 'yon," Willie said..

Some of Willie’s fans seconded the TV host’s statement and came to his defense.

“It was the Fire Department in Lake Tahoe who stopped the show because of some technical problem and fireworks na ginamit nila [sa] show [kasi] baka pag mulan pa yon ng sunog kaya hindi pinatapos yung show…” was one explanation.

A poem for Joey de Leon entitled "Hoy! Joey de Leon!"

This poem sent to me by a friend was written by a fan who has concerns for Willie Revillame, in response to Joey's "tula na puno ng patutsada" against Willie Revillame.

Read this:

Ito naman ang isang tula ng OFW sa Qatar na nagmamalasakit kay Willie Revillame - sagot sa tula ni Joey de Leon na mababasa sa ibaba: Paki forward daw ito kay Joey de Leon.

Hoy Joey, bakit ka ba nanggagalaiti

Willie Revillame, ABS-CBN received hearing notice from MTCRB and KBP

Willie continues to be on a hot seat for his reaction during the showing of President Cory Aquino's cortege on the screen while his show was going on. But the Aquino family has already forgiven him and did not want to make a big deal anymore. Willie, for the most part, was actually totally misunderstood because of his tactless and arrogant demeanor. If only Willie made his requests in private and conferred with the management instead of blurting it all out in front of the viewing public, maybe he won't be in this kind of trouble today.

Willie Revillame is once again in the headlines of various publications and internet sites regarding his statement during a live Wowowee telecast where he asked the live feed of Cory Aquino’s cortege be removed from the screen. Many have seen this as brash and it sprouted already numerous online petitions to have the host suspended or remove from his post on the number one noon time show in the country.

The host was not present last Saturday and yesterday and this automatically made people ask what happened to Willie. According to Bong Osorio, Head of ABS-CBN’s Corporate Communications, Willie himself texted him and said that he is on indefinite leave effective last Saturday. Mariel Rodriguez, one of Willie’s co-hosts on Wowowee, also mentioned on the show yesterday that Willie is currently resting.

On Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) and Kapisanan ng Broadcasters sa Pilipinas’s (KBP) claim that Willie violated Presidential Decree of 1986 Section 3C, saying they can take action on any program on TV that will not reflect good values and show anything injurious to the State, the Republic of the Philippines and its people. ABS-CBN has already received MTRCB and KBP’s notice on the matter and will have only five days to respond to this. MTRCB Chairwoman Consoliza Laguardia and KBP Vice Chairman Jun Nicadao says that the station will receive fair treatment in the hearing of this issue.

On the other hand, Senator Nonoy Aquino in an interview said that he would rather not make a big deal out of the issue. “I’ll take what he said at face value at wala siyang insultong nais iparating sa aming pamilya.” [ABS-CBN]

Willie Revillame’s new and more serious trouble

Willie’s mission in life apparently, was to make people happy. He said it in his show all the time. But people are no longer laughing these days because they got very angry at Willie for saying what he said that were found to be rude and disrespectful towards Cory Aquino’s very emotional cortege being flashed on the screen while the show was going on and people were having fun. Obviously, it’s hard to do a job making people happy when people are actually grieving in the background. Actually, I think, everything about the show that day seemed to be wrong and inappropriate but could have been avoided if only Willie and ABS-CBN management planned carefully and communicated the appearances of Cory’s funeral procession on the show where there will be laughing and dancing. ABS-CBN should have been more pro-active and sensitive enough, and each people involved should speak up and help clear Willie’s name because I don’t think it was all his fault although he played the major role. I think, the management should also take responsibility for the actions done and words said that made everyone angry at Willie.

Wowowee host, Willie Revillame, joined the calls to release the Red Cross hostages.
Willie, who is now known as one of the most powerful celebrities, hopes that his plea will help in the situation. His intentions is always to bring joy to other and believes that having a good heart is more important than having guns.

Willie Revillame has a non-showbiz girlfriend

Willie has a non-showbiz girlfriend that he has been keeping private for almost a year now. She is a young college student from Bulacan named Nadine Ignacio, who was once a contestant at a Wowowee game show.

For the first time, Revillame revealed that he is going out with a non-showbiz girlfriend but declined to give further details about the girl.

“Kailangan pa bang pag-usapan yon? Kasi ayaw kong madamay yon na simpleng babae lang yan sa aking kinakatayuan kasi nag-aaral at yung pamilya niya ay hindi naman showbiz ‘yan,” he said.

Revillame is, of course, referring to his mysterious date during the 2nd Annual Star Magic Ball. The girl was identified as Nadine Ignacio, a student from Bulacan who also became a contestant in one of Wowowee’s games.

“Simple lang yon kahit ano ang ibigay ko doon ayaw talaga. Basta kung anuman ang gusto kong ibigay (sasabihin niya) ‘Hindi ko kailangan yan basta ang kailangan ko lang ikaw.'

"Sabi ko nga: 'Bakit mo ba ako nagustuhan?' Sabi niya: ‘Iba ka e iba,” he said.

Revillame said his current sweetheart does not get jealous easily. He said he also gave the girl some guidelines so that their relationship would last.

"I told her: 'Don't text me, don't look for me and don't nag me.' If you want our relationship to last and you don't want me to leave you, it's that simple and she does it," he said.[ABS-CBN News]
