Pops Fernandez explains why "Diva 4 Diva" concert got booed in the U.S.

Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez, Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla, Concert Queen Pops Fernandez and Pop Diva Kuh Ledesma reportedly got booed during their recent “Divas 4 Divas” concert tour in the United States.

Reports said the audience was angry and disappointed because the show started late.

According to Ricky Lo’s Funfare column in The Philippine Star, published last April 1, the reason for the almost an hour delay was because the divas went shopping and consequently overslept due to fatigue.

In a report from ""SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon," Fernandez belied the reports.

“Hindi kami nag-shopping, promise. Nabasa ko rin [‘yon]. Mali [‘yon].After the Houston show, lumipad na kami sa Atlantic City tapos nag-show din kami the next night. So nakatulog [kami] talaga,” Fernandez said.

“Nakatulog kami kasi kailangan namin siyempre magpahinga kasi importante ‘yon para sa voice namin. Pero hindi totoo na nag-shopping kami. Wala kaming desire to shop. We’re just so tired. Tapos na-delay, hindi sinasadya ‘yong delay kasi wala akong transportation papunta ‘nong venue,” she clarified.

Fernandez explained that it was nobody’s fault and it was one of those unexpected things when doing a concert tour.

“Tapos nagkakalituhan na kasi nga siyempre pagod na ‘yong mga taong kasama namin. Tapos siguro din, on the production side, siyempre nagkakagulo din sila. So I think it was nobody’s fault,” she said. [ABS-CBN]
