Pops Fernandez have an idea why Jomari broke up with her

Pops Fernandez dismissed the rumors that she and actor Jomari Yllana broke up because of money matters or that she rekindled romance with ex-hubby Martin Nievera on Showbiz News Ngayon (March 10 episode). Ever since their split up came out in the news last week, Pops and Jomari were mum on the real cause of the break-up until the Concert Queen broke her silence on SNN.

Pops said that reports saying the break up was caused by money issues is really shallow. “Nung una ‘yung reaction siyempre, ‘Ha?!’ Nagulat ako, bakit ‘yun? Parang out of all the other reasons, I can think of, that’s never in the top 100 list or 500 list (even). Kasi wala talaga akong maisip na time ever na nagkaroon ng diperensiya sa pera.” She also denied claims that Jomari supposedly borrowed half a million pesos from her and that this eventually led to a heated argument. “Ako ha, heto ‘yung alam ko. Wala kami ever naging problema sa pera,” she assured. For her, this excuse is quite unfair.

The singer-actress then admitted that she is not sure of the real reason why they broke up. She guessed that it had something to do with her reunion concert with Martin, where Jomari was one of the producers of the show. “Siguro kasi the latter part, we were really pressured, without wanting to be. Siyempre when you’re working on a project. Siguro na-discover namin na there were so many differences because we’ve never worked together before,” she shared. She further explained that a professional involvement could have brought out the worst in them, damaging their personal relationship. “It’s a different world for us eh, ‘di ba all of a sudden, iba na ‘yung pinag-uusapan namin. Pareho kaming involved. Tapos pareho rin kaming pressured,” she said.

When host Boy Abunda suggested that Jomari might have felt jealous of her ex-husband, Pops said that this crossed her mind. She added that her reunion with Martin was just work and it was actually more of them moving on with their separate lives. [ABS-CBN]
