After "You Changed My Life", announcing what's next?

Too much pressure daw ang naramdaman ni Sarah ng ina-nounce na mag-kakaroon ng pangatlong movie ang movie nila ni John Lloyd pero marami ang na-excite sa balita lalong lalo ng ang mga fans na nakaka-relate kina Laida at Miggy.

The victory party of You Changed My Life last Monday night, March 9, turned out to be a very emotional one as Director Cathy Garcia-Molina thanked everyone who made the movie possible, especially those who worked behind the scenes. ABS-CBN has always taught us the value of meritocracy. And I think I am so guilty because hindi ko siya naisasabuhay. I failed to thank the people who have helped me finish a film every time… [Sa cast], you have made my tears go away literally. You all made me laugh. I know I can be a monster at times pero kayo yung nakakapitan ko every time,” she said in between tears during her moving speech.

John Lloyd Cruz also commended the crew for giving their all to the project despite the long working hours. Then he announced that he would share 10 percent of his fee to “the boys” who really went without sleep and baths for days just to deliver a quality movie on time for its playdate. And ako naiintindihan ko na we all live in a third world country. I don’t think they’re getting much of what they deserve. Ako I just want to share, para rin mas masarap ang tulog ko sa gabi,” he later explained to the network’s reporters who attended the occasion.

But the main highlight of the event was when Star Cinema Managing Director Malou Santos announced that there would be a sequel to You Changed My Life next year. “[You Changed My Life] made history because it’s the first sequel na ginawa sa Philippine movie history na isang love story na nagkaroon ng sequel at mas malakas pa sa original. So sundan ninyo ang sunod na kabanata sa buhay ni Laida at ni Miggy sa part three,” she declared much to everyone’s excitement, including ABS-CBN President Charo Santos-Concio who was reportedly the one who wanted another sequel the most.

Sarah Geronimo, on the other hand, was a bit apprehensive when she heard the news because people’s expectations of her would be much greater, given the accomplishments that her two films have made in less than a year. “Wow na lang po ang masasabi ko. Risky yun.

As for John Lloyd, he feels sad that it would take some time before the said reunion movie would push through.

The two lead stars of the film also stressed how much they appreciate their fans’ all-out support ever since they did A Very Special Love last 2008. “Kung pwede ko lang kayo lahat i-powerhug! Ginulat ni’yo kami ng husto sa suporta na ibinibigay ni’yo sa You Changed My Life [at] sa tandem namin ni John Lloyd. At if ever magkaroon kami ng movie part three or ng part four, sana po nandiyan pa rin kayo. [Sana magpatuloy] yung interest ni’yo na ma-witness ulit kung ano na yung development sa love story ni Laida Magtalas and ni Miggy Montenegro,” she beamed.

You Changed My Life is now on its third week showing in theatres nationwide. Watch out for more updates about the Box Office team-up of Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz here on ABS-CBN.com.
