Newsbreak.com's attack on KC Concepcion is out of line

Senator Kiko Pangilinan have responded to the article posted on Newsbreak.com on August 11, 2009 entitled “With KC around, who needs pol ads?” and we definitely agree with the senator because in our opinion also, the comment was way out of line, harsh and negative. Obviously, the writer does not know the many advocacies that KC have supported.

Kiko on KC article: Harsh, uncalled for

I am writing in relation to an article commenting on my daughter KC's registration as a voter, and its coverage thereof (“With KC around, who needs pol ads?”, posted on August 11, 2009.) I wish to clarify that as an individual, KC has supported many advocacies empowering young Filipino voters, such as ABS-CBN'S Boto Mo Ipatrol Mo in 2007, YouthVotePhilippines' R2V (Register 2 Vote) concert in 2008, and this year's Register & Vote campaign. I am fortunate that KC shares my advocacies to empower young Filipino voters, but I wish to underscore that all of KC's efforts remain non-partisan in light of her post as World Food Programme National Ambassador against Hunger.

I feel, therefore, that the phrase "ethics breach", stated in the article, is harsh and uncalled for. As an elected official and a reform advocate, it has been one of my advocacies to get first-time voters to go out and register. It is a drive shared by many colleagues and friends in the public sector, the private sector, and the artist community. In fact, our Rock the Vote concert series has been supported by the likes of Isabela Gov. Grace Padaca, Naga City Mayor Jesse Robredo; artists Parokya ni Edgar, Kamikazee, Rivermaya, Hale, Moonstar 88; and many others. Together, we have been working to engage the electorate despite our differences in political affiliation because we want to communicate that voting is a right and a responsibility—regardless of whom one ends up voting. It is crucial to get our message out to the public because we stand to disenfranchise up to 7 million voters in 2010 if voter registration is not heavily promoted.

I appeal to you, our friends in media, not to color these efforts with malice and suspicion, as we are doing our share to engage our citizens in democratic processes. The public's choices in 2010 are entirely up to them, but it is our responsibility to arm them with the information and the capacity to be able to make these choices themselves.

Sharon confirmed that she accepted to do the 6th Mano Po which will be entitled My Mother to be directed by one of her favorite directors: Joel Lamangan. Sharon also mentioned that she requested for Angel Locsin to be in the movie. Look forward for more updates.

Ayon sa Showbiz News Ngayon, nakakalula daw na P3 milyon ang halaga ng Hermes Birkin bag ni Megastar Sharon Cuneta, ang isa sa mga pinakasikat na brand ng bags sa buong mundo. Hindi ito gawa sa ordinaryong leather lamang, kundi gawa ito sa crocodile skin. Paliwanag ni Sharon, wala raw sa original plan niya na bilhin ang bag nang magpunta siya sa abroad. Nakumbinsi umano siya ng isa niyang kasamahan nang sabihin nito sa Megastar na isipin naman ang sarili. “Oo nga ‘no? ‘Pag nagsa-shop ako abroad, (I buy for) my children, my husband my friends. Kasi feeling ko, I was never really a bag (or) a shoe person,” paliwanag ni Shawie. “Parang feeling ko, I’m more for the classic stuff. Whatever lasts. Clothes and priority ko lalo na nung payat ako talaga. That’s what I miss.”

Paliwanag pa ng aktres na deserve naman niya ito lalo pa’t 30 years na siya sa showbiz. Hindi naman ito masasayang dahil maaari niyang ipamana ang nasabing gamit dahil mayroon siyang tatlong anak na babae. Sinabi rin ng kanyang anak na si KC Concepcion na deserve ito ng kanyang mommy dahil pinagpaguran naman niya ito. May katumbas din naman daw itong pagtulong sa favorite foundations ni Sharon kaya ayos lang.

Samantala, nilinaw ng SNN host na si Kris Aquino na hindi si Sharon ang nag-declare na P3M ang nasabing Hermes bag kundi gumawa sila ng sarili nilang research. Ibinulgar din ni Kris na nabalitaan niyang may isang dosenang mamahaling bag pa ang Megastar. [ABS-CBN]

Sharon Cuneta and Ai Ai Delas Alas to do a Mother’s Day movie special

The untitled movie of Sharon and Ai Ai as offered by Star Cinema is anticipated to be a big blockbuster. It will be directed by Wenn Deramas, a box-office director. This ‘dramedy’ movie will be about two unlikely women who will share a meaningful friendship. John Estrada, Candy Pangilinan, and Chokoleit are also said to be joining the cast. The other details of the movie are still being kept hush-hush. But Direk Wenn shared that shooting will begin early March and the movie is set for release this May.[ABS-CBN]

Sharon and Kiko's marriage is far better than most

The rumor regarding Sharon and Kiko's separation has not completely died down and, speculations has it, that it all started from the anniversary celebration of the senate and therefore is easier to conclude that it was all for political reasons and motivation. Was it obvious? You got that right, 101%. As we all know, Kiko is a potential presidential candidate and could be a possible winner too, and I guess - for whoever started this rumor - it is already time to start such negative campaign. But, for crying out loud, be realistic! Where is the mistress? Where is the child? The proof is in the pudding. This is so nonsense started by a nincompoop and a dodo brain who has nothing else better to do. This rumor will forever stay a rumor unless it can be proven. I just can’t fathom why many people would buy it. Unfortunately, it has gotten to Sharon’s nerves. The concocted story has made her so burnt out like she said.
