Senator Aquillino Pimentel's attitude not fit to be in any leadership

Unfortunately, this is the kind of leadership we have in our country.

Pimentel made the apology through a prayer that he recited before the opening of the Senate session on Tuesday...

"Dear Lord, we, your senators, are embroiled in a stormy debate over a controversy involving a colleague of ours. In the heat of the discussion, some of us tend to use words that are coarse and vulgar. To those who I might have hurt in this chamber by the use of intemperate language or unseemly expressions, I apologize and beg their forgiveness through you, Lord," said Pimentel.
...but refused to apologize directly to the person he offended.
On Tuesday, Roxas, who remained hurt and offended by the remark, said Pimentel did not need to apologize to him, but to Sanchez.

“Hindi naman kailangang mag-apologize (sa akin) si Senator Nene. Mag-apologize siya sa misis ko kasi siya ang tinamaan ng kanyang kabastusan," Roxas said at a press conference after the 64th anniversary celebration of the Liberal Party (LP).

(He doesn’t need to apologize to me. He should apologize to my wife because she was the one affected by his rude remark.)

During the same press conference, LP senatorial candidates had likewise slammed Pimentel for making the remark.

"At the age of Nene, he should know what is right and what is wrong," said LP senatorial candidate Sonia Roco, wife of the late Senator Raul Roco.

Before he decided to make the apology through a prayer, Pimentel said in a text message to GMANews.TV Tuesday that he was willing to say sorry to anyone he had hurt with his remark.

"If I hurt anyone, [I] am ready to apologize but not on imagined political partisan slights," he said.

However, when the senior lawmaker was asked by reporters if he would heed Roxas' call for him to apologize to Sanchez, Pimentel said, "How did Korina come into the picture? I have no quarrel with Korina."

Mar, Korina's wedding date set on October 23, 2009 ala 'People's' wedding

Mar Roxas and Korina Sanchez has finally set and revealed their wedding date to October 23, 2009. The wedding is expected to be the biggest for this year and will be open to the public which is understandable since both are public figures. People are looking forward to seeing Mar and Korina's grand wedding but some people continue to insinuate that the two are settling down only to boost Roxas’ reported bid for the presidency. But there really is nothing wrong with that. What is important is that Roxas is one of the most qualified to be the next president of the country.

The high-profile couple announced on “The Buzz” that they are tying the knot on October 23.

The senator said they chose to get married in October because that month is special to them. Sanchez and his brother, Dinggoy, were both born in October, Roxas explained. Dinggoy passed away after battling cancer.

“[Iyong date na] 23 swerte sa amin ‘yan, both in astrology at Chinese calendar. Sa numerology naman sinabi nila 2 at 3 kapag pinagsama, 5, buntis. Maganda iyon,” Roxas said.

“The Buzz” reported that Roxas and Sanchez are still looking for the “perfect church” within Metro Manila. Among the churches being considered are Santo Domingo Church and Manila Cathedral, the entertainment show said.

Event organizer Mike Niñana said the couple wants a big church that will not only accommodate their respective families and friends but the public as well.

“Ang gusto nila invited ang public, magkasya. So ang importante, people's church. Pangalawa malaki, magkasya lahat, hindi lang iyong mga kaibigan nila. Alam mo naman sila public figures,” Niñana said.

The two have not been spared from speculations ever since they announced their engagement early this year. Rumor has it that Roxas, a possible presidential contender in 2010 elections, was merely using Sanchez for his political ambition.

The popular broadcaster, however, scoffed at insinuation that the two of them are settling down only to boost Roxas’ reported bid for the presidency.

The broadcaster told StarStudio magazine that she and Roxas, her boyfriend of five years, are getting married because they believe now “is the best time for both of us” to do so.

Korina Sanchez, Mar Roxas' wedding announcement at Wowowee

Finally, the much awaited marriage proposal and soon to be wedding for Korina Sanchez and Mar Roxas has finally come true. It’s been the hot topic since the good news broke out back in February 2009, and now, Mar and Korina made the official announcement confirming the wedding. Their appearance in Wowowee was a big surprise and very emotional, especially for Mar. The appearance only proved how important the “masa” is to them. Lots of people are happy and wishing them the best. But critics think that their announcement at Wowowee was politically motivated. But it really doesn’t matter where they made their announcements or whether it’s politically motivated or not because, the truth of the matter is, they are good people and good leaders for the country that has suffered for the longest time. Mar and Korina’s team will be a force to reckon with.

Mar Roxas, Korina Sanchez wedding plans to be announced soon

James Yap Jr., the youngest son of the Philippines’ Queen of Talk Kris Aquino and star cager James Yap, will be the ring bearer in the much-awaited wedding of ABS-CBN news anchor Korina Sanchez and Senator Mar Roxas II.

Aquino announced over ABS-CBN's “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon” that she won’t disclose other details of the wedding except that her baby boy will be part of the special occasion.

“Ito I can safely say this. I'm not gonna say when [the marriage will be] cause it's up to Korina and Mar, but definitely, ring bearer si Baby James. Kasi hindi ba nag-interbyuhan kami ni Korina, kinumpromiso ko na siya na first time na magri-ring bearer ni Baby James for my kinakapatid Mar Roxas and for my dear friend Korina Sanchez,” Aquino said.
Aquino spilled the beans after SNN reported the current status of Roxas and Sanchez’s romantic relationship.
"Masaya, puno ng pag-ibig. Happy kami at saka maganda, nagkakasundo kami kasi pareho kami ng gusto para sa bayan natin," Sanchez said. "So todo support ako sa kanya, todo support din siya sa akin."

Asked by SNN if there’s already a date for the wedding, Sanchez was evasive and simply replied: “Ikaw ang unang makakaalam.” [ABS-CBN News]
