Trina Thompson, 27, filed a lawsuit last week against Monroe College, saying she has not been able to find a job since she got her information technology degree in April. She says the school's Office of Career Advancement hasn't provided her with the leads and career advice it promises, the newspaper reports.
But Monroe College spokesman Gary Axelbank says the lawsuit is completely without merit, the Post notes.
This is not uncommon. I’ve heard this same situation from a lot of fresh graduates who went to certain schools because they were attracted to the promise of job after graduation. I think the government should step in and help these students who have done something to secure their future. They were very hopeful but only to end up desperate.
