The rising of our very own Charice is our rising too

With the whirlwind of events happening in Charice’s life in the past few months, one would think that she’d be overexposed to the public and this shooting star would dim down in the long run.
We beg to disagree.

After being discovered in YouTube by Ellen Degeneres, Charice has soared through the mainstream entertainment scene with appearances in Oprah (twice no less) and performing with popular artists like hit maker David Foster, Michael Buble and Josh Groban. Outside the US, Charice has also wowed audiences in Rotterdam and was invited by Andrea Bocelli in his hometown in Italy. But the piece de resistance was performing in Madison Square Garden with one of the greatest divas—Celine Dion.

She was no front act—as she was considered as the highlight of the concert. That same night, Charice was able to fulfill her greatest dream—to perform in New York’s famed Madison Square Garden, with Ms. Dion.

But the most important thing that happened that night was Charice’s performance has made us proud to be Pinoys. She has once again affirmed that Filipinos are world-class performers, at par with international artists.

We look forward to seeing more of Charice—she is, after all, already a star. One can only imagine how far she can still go, and how many times all over she can make us proud. (AJ)
