Manny Pacquiao fighting De La Joya, will retire and will run for public office in 2010

Filipino boxing champion, Manny Pacquaio, made an announcement that he is fighting Oscar De La Joya three months from now in Las Vegas, plans to retire next year, and will be running for public office in 2010.

What I think?

First: Is it a good idea to fight De La Joya knowing that he is bigger, taller and known to be a hard hitter?

Second: The plan to retire is not a bad idea since he is perhaps now one of the richest men in the country.

Third: But why run for public office? He already lost big time which proved that people did not approve of him as a politician. He claimed his reason was to be able to help the poor. Mother Theresa did an excellent job in helping the poor but she never entered the political arena.
